If 2015 was a challenging year for civil society in Sierra Leone, then 2016 was much more challenging. Threats by government functionaries and other state institutions to further shut down the already limited civil society space formed one of the key talking points of the year. The Government of Sierra Leone, through the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, continued working towards the finalization of the New NGO Policy whose bold intention is to restrict civil society
