“Women play a special role in the natural resources sector, both as participants and as beneficiaries of the resources. Accordingly, it should also be emphasized that the strategy and objectives of each subsector will specifically include gender analysis and compensatory and other mechanisms to ensure that equal benefits accrue to men and women. The government would also ensure the use of a human rights-based approach in mainstreaming gender to address violations”.
